Ah, my disgruntled neighbor who seems "Green" with envy because I have too much grass this year. I've sent you the research information that supports our system of wintering cows on snow with windbreaks for shelter but you chose not to read it. I can send you(or post here) the grass feed test results taken in an ARECA project last winter which proved the quality of our banked grass to be better than average hay.

As I told you before - carry right on with your threat to call the SPCA - I have nothing to hide. In future I would appreciate you directing your threats to me personally versus the inappropriate forum of an internet discussion group.

One of the beauties of the cow is that she can carry a large reserve of fat on her back from summer grass. Each condition score is 75 lbs on a 9 point scale and as long as you don't get into the 2 or less category, there is no physiological damage so if she heads into winter in good shape, you don't have to provide a lot of supplements. You can feed her from her back or from the bin..it's a matter of choice.

GF: Yes I envy ur alot grass but but, I have been farming here long before u came to Canada. Why do I threat to u, that because, the way I saw ur cows do not treat with care, just simply let windy blowing that is -40 plus windchill that is go -60 C. And there is shelter nearby but did not move over there instead staying there and do suffer than u imagine. Why should I read crap of AB report, cuz there is report like this on other website that is different from ur. Yes I may going to report to SPCA if i see happen again this year. Last year was almost but this time may. Perhaps u ought stay over night camp along with cows at open field and u see urself. Cow or cattles are sense that any windy out open they want to go shelter but u lock them in and they get no where to go and instead face in open windy and very cold, they get cold stress. U should get education on cattle cold stress from windy or high windchill. There is inf on cold stress cattle on website. U can't cover ur face. Let face it. Too windy for that is -60 c.
