    Alberta Beef Producers elect delegates

I notice a familiar name missing from the Zone 5 delegates list. Maybe there will be more time for posting on Agriville again?

Wow, ABP must be losing producer support at an alarming rate. The election results release claims the ABP represents the interests of 30,000 producers yet the "AgriRecovery" release claims they represent nearly 28,000 producers. That's a loss of over 2000 producers and the releases were put out the same day!

I hope so. Didn't always agree but his research and passion and opinion were appreciated.

At that rate they will be out of support by Christmas.

Sorry about that typo. It should read 28,000 producers. I used an old press release form with numbers from awhile ago.

At least I know you are reading them closely!!

After spending 15 minutes on the phone with a CCA rep the other day about the newly-requested aid package for the OTM packers, I wasn't sure who the "industry orgs" are working for. I fail to understand why the packers need $32/hd in government help to offset the costs incurred by the SRM rules when the Canadian cattleman is already subsiding the packers to the tune of $100 - $200/cow . . .

or 4-$500 per cow. Pre BSE you could recieve $1000 for a good fat cow....prices are more in the stores now than then........makes for a big margin!
