"Wilson Response: Legally, ALSA confers on Cabinet unfettered powers over our economy, environment, and society. The Act goes far beyond stewardship. The Act emphasizes in several places that the purpose of the Act is to deal not just with land use planning but also economic, environmental and social objectives for Alberta as determined by the Cabinet."
There has not been enough emphasis on this fact, ie: the fact that ALSA is MUCH MORE than a land stewardship act.
Please read the first part of this legislation carefully (quoted extensively in the Wilson response at landownersagainstbills.com above).
While our government may be intending to pull the wool over our eyes by changing the word extinguish to "rescind"... the people of Alberta are NOT FOOLED!
Ted Morton knew EXACTLY what he was bringing forth to the legislature with this bill, now a legally binding ACT.
This legislation sets the stage for non-elected people to control Alberta (aka the "Stewardship Ministers"), as they will have all the power and might behind them, to enforce the "regional plans".
Ted Morton is nothing more than a neo-conservative American henchman, put here to hood-wink Albertans into giving away our land, resources and freedoms to corporate prostitutes with NO SOULs.
People never believe that bad stuff will happen to them. But believing isn't good enough; we must stand up against this God-forsaken legislation and cast out all those that support it.
