April Fool Irony

The April fool joke playing on our local radio station all morning was about the introduction of a "petroleum tax" beginning tomorrow to raise funds from drivers and give it to the tar sands companies because they have suffered so much during the recession. It was quite nicely done with the guy thanking all the drivers who have told them they approve of the move.

The irony is it was being played turn about with the Alta-Link ad claiming how they need more new power lines to prevent blackouts complete with a supposed businessman claiming how this is essential to the future of his business. Missing from this ad was the fact that taxpayers are going to foot the bill.

The best I heard was a neighbour on the
"Tradio" call in Buy-Sell-Trade thing.
He said he had 4000 bushels of heavy
oats for sale, and they had to be moved
right away to make room for seed he was
getting back from the cleaning plant.
Said he'd let them all go for $1/bu to
the first person who showed up with a
truck. Then he gave a different
neighbour's phone number. LOL I'm sure
there will be retribution.
