New truck

I am looking for a new truck, I have looked at all them out on the market. Does anyone have any experiences good or bad with the Toyota tundra/ Nissan titan...are they as good as the dealer tells me...like 10,000 pounds is a hell of a load for any 1/2 tons of the world and would be better suited for a 3/4 ton or larger. Was thinking of a diesel GMC or Ford etc would be pretty ok other than the maint. costs?.

When Japan allows fair access to their
market for Canadian beef I will consider

Despite what you may believe about access HT, it is there and it is fair. We just need some true Canadian Beef from a truly Canadian company that respects their rules to break it wide open.

And guess what teaker101, old Kaiser owns a Toyota and loves it. The best pickup I have ever owned. put on 110,000 km before I even put a set of tires and did brakes on the damn thing; and only changed oil prior to that. I pull a twenty foot feather light with it and try LOL not to load it full that often. Probably challenging the breaking capacity, but the power is there and I am surprised at the suspension.

I've always owned Chev/Ford/Dodge trucks... will not buy another one! Bought a Suzuki SUV a couple of years ago and it is so superior to the NA junk, I'll never buy another piece of American made crap!

What you mean by true Canadian Beef!!
Nothing wrong with our precent nice Canadian Beef here raised and processed in Alberta
Short supply and price going up and we all making a Dollar !!!!!
We had many different small plants going with taxpayers money like Canada Gold - Beef. V Ray plant Yes sorry to say did not work .
You talk about captive supply ! find your own market ! anti packers monopoly and yet they telling us can not sell this high price Beef .
Belief it or not we are losing money at the moment the packers say Yes R-K you are great entrepreneur and did a lot of hard work to get your Plant going . all the best of luck and maybe AB Beef Producers should work with You on this start up of the plant.

Thats great news rkaiser, I guess I am getting kind of fed up with my GMC and am looking forward to a change just was not sure about which one to pick. We do have a nissan rogue and it performs like a champ and I have yet to get it stuck...the thing is like a mountain goat. I am kind of leaning towards the tundra max cab as my kids are getting older so I would imagine it will be me in the back...lol.

The Japanese trucks are built in North
America and Canada. I believe the
Toyota truck plant is in ON (if it has
not been closed).
I drive a 2008 F250 with a 5.4 gas. It
is tough, and I like it, but the mileage
sucks. I also drive a Suzuki minitruck
(imported from Japan) and it is tough as
HE!!, is handier, gets way better
mileage (40MPG ), but can't pull a
trailer or take the entire family to
town.
I think they are all about the same, the
difference is in local dealer support.
If you have a place to get a toyota
repaired that is close and reliable they
are as good as any. Lots of them and
the Nissans showing up in the oilfield
now.

The Tundras are made in San Antonio. Data I've seen is that they contain a larger percentage of North American- made parts than any other large pickup.

Why buy new? Bought a 1989 Dodge 3/4 diesel back in 1996. Old blue is still on road with 1.6 million km and the maintainance is only regular oil changes. Will pull any stock trailer loaded to ears any where or in any type of conditions. Most of my freinds have bought new Japan models and ribbed the hell out of me for my old dodge but they have to replace them ever 3 to 4 years as they just don't last.

Do you know where the Tundra's were designed dalek? Seems that somebody was thinking about more than simply profit and greed when they built the first ones.
