Fairly decent cow prices?

Sold a couple of cows yesterday at Innisfail.
One was 16 years old and had a calf in November. The calf ran out with her all winter. She weighed 1460 and brought 72 cents- $1051.
The other was a 4 year old that had another late calf (October). She came bulling about a month ago. She weighted 1380 and 77 cents- $1062.
Sure beats selling cows for $300-400 in 2004!

Had a couple in Rimbey on Tuesday as well. Just over
1300lbs and brought $976. One that slipped her calf
over the winter was bought as a bred cow in the fall
of 2008 for $485 so I think she left me a few dollars
despite losing the calf this time around !
