just curious to know what the going price of greenfeed is?

I have heard that its between $50-$60 a ton.

In central Alberta, $80/T is probably the bottom price for decent greefeed right now, as people are are offering 60/T for straw.

I'd say the $80 figure is a very good deal and you should snap it right up. I just got back from BC and hay there is pretty reasonable. Good first cut irrigated alphalfa/brome/timothy small squares-$3. Big rounds(1000 lb.) $35. Second cut alphalfa $3.50.
Met a guy just south of Fairmont who was managing a 1000 cow herd and he says they have enough banked grass to run them out til Jan. 1st. Government grass at $7/month/cow. How you going to compete with that?

Here along the AB/SK border the asking price of greenfeed is about $100/ton and it seems to be selling without much argument.
