With the horrible state of the harvest and the quality of the crop, will all the closed and empty feedlots be missed?

I think that this fall will finally show the benefit of having a good sized cattle population to give that feed grain market a base.

Could be an opportunity for medium to large hog and poultry producers to get back into it or expand after a few years of taking it on the chin. High priced beef makes pork and poultry look more appealing, and cheap feed makes it easier for the producers of it to react. There are a lot of Hutterite colonies with empty hog barns or running way below capacity. They could repopulate faster than most and use up huge amounts of feed grains.
