    Stock Waterers

We're in the market for a new stock waterer. Has anyone used the Ritchie Commander II or the SPI plastics models that Peavey Mart sells? Or does anyone have any other favourites? We are looking for energy efficient.

We bought the larger plastic Richie last year and are pleased so far, it was the R16 insulation (even around the top) that sold it.

I sold some CT6 units which are "energy free". They really worked. After 2 days of -35 in March and only 1/2 enough cattle drinking out of the unit. We opend it up to see how much ice was inside, and found none. That was with a 250 watt heater in it, however we found it was not even running.

I had one of ritchies' first attempts at a "low energy" waterer, (about 10 yrs ago) and I must say it was the worst piece of crap i've ever had! That being said, the new ones look to be vastly improved, and i've heard nothing but good things from friends who have one. I'm now using some Edwards? (I think, the blue ones peavey sells) for a few years now, and they have been great, if a little energy hungry.
