    Feed treated with NH3

Looking for info on feed value and concerns (if any) on bales that are treated with anhydrous amonia to counter high moisture content. Is it safe to feed to cattle? Does it change the protein level? Any info appreciated.

Rarely have we ever used Ammoniation as a preservation strategy adn I'm not sure you can count on it as a preserver or anti heating tool but on of these links suggests that it will inhibit mold production. I doubt it will stop heating or spoilage but will do some more research.

Ammoniation is used as a protein enhancer for many feeds, usually in Straw or chaff. I found these two web pages that do a good job disussion cautions, changes in feed value and how to instructions
