    Beef Production

The Alberta Value Chain has finally got all the legal paper work done, share offering out and are on the road. Although the original intent of forming a supply chain umbrella group for the diversified livestock industry and specialty beef started this initiative. We have had many beef industry producers approach us to see how they can get involved.

Just to let you know we will be processing and fabricating beef in this plant. Most of the people that have approached us see their product as a special product in some way shape or form. But the big interest is in the trace back to a verifiable source. We have formally aligned ourselves with what we consider solid experts in that field and will be working with them to not only develop the processing and fabrication components of this system, but to also assist in the development of systems that will help you as the producer take part in programs that put more money in your pockets at the end of the day.

We all know that the industry needs to change and we feel we have the foundations built into this plan to help you and your operation position yourselves well ahead of any changes forced on the industry in the years to come. The cattle industry itself is on the road in the direction of their choice. All we can do is to enhance our position in an industry that is destined to change.

Feel free to contact me directly or add a thread here and I will answer what I can. Our email is valuechain@telus.net

    ValueChain,
I'm involved in a feedlot in Sask.
Does a feedlot fit in to your plan
anywhere? I realize that you are
    probably going after specialty
products besides beef, just like to
    hear your thoughts on this.

    Thanks!

Actually several feedlots (mostly smaller ones) have approached us to see how they can take part.

The simple answer to your question is yes we see the feedlots as becoming a strong part of the overall process. We have had several discussions with these operations and the challenges they have faced. It is interesting to note that like the producers they seem to have specific needs that this system will help with.

I would be most interested in your operation, the challenges you face and how you see the future. Feel free to drop me a line on e mail valuechain@telus.net and I can send you a contact phone number.

We began specifically to meet the needs of the diversified livestock industry and provide services to assist the producers in adding value to their meat products, through cutting up front costs, source verifiable products and building programs and alliances that added value to their products. Our company acts as a working component inside the supply chain and are paid a fee for service (our fee is in your costs already and is transparent for you to see and compare) We are working with several companies and individuals to establish a marketing group, financial arm, export organization, processing facility, value added and program development group and trace back components. You can visit www.viewtrak.com to see our latest press release. You can also contact me at valuechain@telus.net We are presently putting together the initial organization in Alberta but do have producer groups interested in Ontario, Manitoba and Sask. Our intention is to develop the working model then duplicate the success in other parts of the country.
The basic strategy is to build a structure that will balance out the supply chain so costs and benefits are shared. Also we are working to supply data (information) back to the producers to help improve the industry.
We have met with several producer groups and the plan has been well accepted so far, we have had very positive feed back. This is not to say their is not a lot of negative comments and skeptics out there. But not do anything in our opinion is just adding failure to failure. If we wait much longer the disaster gets worse.
Do we have all the answers? No I don't think we do, but we are willing to bring those on board that can work for the industry and with the industry to help us grow it. So we will listen to the negative and work in the positive, your negative comments or positive input can be sent to valuechain@telus.net and I will answer what I can for you.
I guess our bottom line is that if you are happy with the system today then great. If you think you can do better and add value, or you can help the industry grow, let's explore how we can do that.

              Thanks Rusty

I do believe they are working on some of the same things, our process is a little more advanced in most areas, but it is companies like them that can help all of us move to the next step.

There is still a lot of ground work to pull all the pieces together and as usual for the most part producers have paid the price. This however is changing and about time as well.

The main thing here is how are we going to get more cash in the producers pocket and balance the costs out throughout the supply chain.

Thanks again for the interesting site check out www.viewtrak.com they mostly deal in the cattle industry at this point but we are working with them for diversified livestock and will be adding a total profit and loss component throughout the supply chain as time goes on.
