    When you combine money and oil, there is no such thing as democracy. This sounds so much like the nonsense that has gone on to try and make the BSE lawsuit go away.

    I guess the government tactics are a general policy, not just reserved for the likes of a bunch of broke cattle producers.

    And they keep being re-elected..........

      The problem with this article is the assumption the oil companies reached all the way up to the federal cabinet to get the judge hearing this court case appointed to the appelant court.
      I'm hearing the same accusation of the Alberta government appointing Russell Brown to the Queens bench to quiet his opposition to Bill 2, the Responsible Energy Development Act.
      Now both of these appointments may very well be true, but there is no proof that happened? Both these individuals were highly qualified for their appointments.
