Nicer place than the world that most humans live in --- Ego and Blame Land.

I have to say that I am proud of all that you have done for the industry GF. We need men like you to stir things up with yer red headed fire. Shit man -- if it were not for guys like "us" (is that okay to say "us" GF? LOL) we would not see the shift in retail stores in Calgary and other cities around the world to more and more naturally and consciously raised beef products. The gifts that we keep getting from the conventional industry keep giving us more room to grow. I call them the three educational "R's" at our stores and am telling our employees to simply tell the inquiring customer to look up the growing list of wonderful gifts the conventional beef industry gives us all.

Unless you go to the company website or maybe the ABP/CCA propaganda site, you will find tons of interesting information about "R"algro, "R"actopamine, and "R"umensin. Is it negative advertising for me to promote my three "R's" educational program for consumers; on products that conventional producers seem to be proud to use? ...LMAO

Is it a fantasy to see a Canadian beef industry led by producers who actually give a shit for the health and lives of consumers... I think not. Hell look at how Christoph and now NB have jumped on board. Soon to be followed by a "natural beef" line of products from our Brazilian multinational friends at JBS.

So what if it makes those of us who have been in the biz for 10 or 15 years work a little harder. All human structures are unstable and even the mighty fall sooner or later. In the long run, our goal was to see a choice for consumers and they certainly have that now. Or at least that was my goal --- other than making some money doing it. LOL

Stayed there when I attended the Prionet conference. Interesting and creative hotel with a mall attached. Don't mind the comparison.

We all know how far you get in this world if you don't have the guts to try. If you do have the guts, you just never know for sure what might happen. You should know that rule of thumb well enough, Iain. Don't mind the extra motivation, but a bit like bringing coals to Newcastle.

My Grandma was a sweet lady, but she had a plaque on her wall that said..

I hate to be a kicker
          I always long for peace
But the wheel that does the squeaking
Is the one that gets the grease.

It's been in the back of my mind ever since. ;-)

If we don't think enough of our way of life to stand up for it, then we deserve to lose it. The beef producers of this country have made a lot of people a lot of money and contributed to our nation's trade surplus for a long time. It's time we got the respect we deserve.

I say we've earned it. And by standing up for what's right, then maybe we'll get it.

Even if we do bicker a bit along the way.
