    Next Year

Will next year be a awesome time to sell females? With all the cattle sold this year will folks replace next year or sit back?

How many cattle sold will not be replaced do to the age of farmers?

I sell bulls each spring and am concerned about the number of bulls that may sell as well.

    Any thoughts???

Hi Muttley! always good to see your posts! My thinking is if it ever snows and/or rains, (or both) they'll be like gold. If not, however, things are gonna get pretty scary. While it's true that alot of older producers that sold out will never again buy cattle, the acres are still there, and those remaining (IMHO) will likely just carry higher numbers. ...just my 2 cents, and that's about all it's worth! ;-)

My guess is that bulls should be worth something as well because a lot of them that might have got to stick around for another year got culled prematurely because of feed shortages. They will have to be replaced this spring. In our case we culled about a quarter of our cows and all of our mature bulls.
