Slipped into the Agricultural Appropriations Bill, which passed through Congress last week, was a small provision that’s a big deal for Monsanto and its opponents. The provision protects genetically modified seeds from litigation in the face of health risks and has thus been dubbed the “Monsanto Protection Act” by activists who oppose the biotech giant. President Barack Obama signed the spending bill, including the provision, into law on Tuesday

I saw that story. I wish I could say I was surprised............

That is just outrageous. No way can that be justified.
First they are allowed to patent from a life form
(which they didn't create they only modified). Then
they are allowed to let is spread like a weed across
the land for which they bear no responsibility indeed
they can sue landowners and make them responsible
for its control. Now they are immune from
prosecution if (when) the negative qualities of their
plants on the health of the human population are
exposed.
Talk about having your cake and eating it!
