Today's break in live and feeder cattle appears to have done damage to the long-term bull market.

Quiet packer demand, declining wholesale beef prices, jump in carcass weights plus technical 'get me out' selling contributed to the recent break.

Price risk management and cost control will be essential heading into the winter market.

Feeders are not willing sellers into this market weakness. Awaiting improved packer demand and recovery in October.
