We are renting out 240 acres of foothills parkland pasture for grazing for the first time. There are large carnivores around. What kind of liability problems could we have and what kind of insurance should we get?

Deb,what are your exact concerns? If you inform the renters of the large carnivores and don't guarantee no death loss then you have nothing to worry about.Just simply state in the contract they are at their own risk and you are not responsible for predator losses.
If you are concerned about livestock being chased onto other peoples property or being chased away not to be found again, that may be a different story.

The south fence is on the United States border. Their cows across the line frequently break the fence to get to our greener pastures. I worry that the 2 herds will mingle or all head over the line into the States. Then what do we do? We'll check the fence daily but just in case...
When we make up a contract do we go to a lawyer or what?
