The rain gauge isn't out yet - got to knock the cobwebs out from last year yet. It rained for about 4 hours last night (west Central AB), after which it turned to snow but I don't know for sure when. The ground is white and it snowed off and on all day and is attempting to snow right now, but it likely won't add much more.

It melted some today as well, so things should maybe look a little greener once the sun shines.

The step is a little lighter now, so here's hoping the moisture keeps coming.

      Hey all,
Well, the initial moisture didn't add up to much in the rain guage (2/10), but on the brighter side it started drizzling at around 11 am, and it's now sleeting out there.
Hopefully we get a couple days of this, and you do to.
      Take care.

It would seem that we get our moisture in a solid form around here! About 2 inches on the ground and still coming down. I'm not complaining mind you...but it sure makes "mudding" in the chokecherries a not exactly fun job!
Grassfarmer: I'm only half Scottish, half English, so I guess that might explain how sometimes I like to blow money? Actually I am fairly "thrifty" if you know what I mean? I'm always looking for a cheaper way to do something. I am always appalled at the waste I see in our modern society! It really bothers me that I don't get a decent return on my investment in farming...which is why I am quiting cattle. Maybe I'll become wealthy raising berries...well maybe not! But then it is just a hobby and I guess if a person looks at it like that, then you can afford to lose money?
Sorry if I offended you because you are Scottish? That was not my intention at all....just my Canadian upbringing sort of thing.

          I wasn't offended Cowman, that's why I used the ;o) icon!
Speaking of moisture we only got 3/10ths inch last week when Red Deer and south got more, but we picked up another 3/10ths today in snow. My pastures are greening up nicely, probably enough moisture to grow decent grass and if we got heat now we might actually be ahead of where we were last June 1st.
