    I'm sending R-calf some money

I think I'll donate some cash to R-calf.
Here's why; It seems to be taking too long for too little slaughter capacity to come on line in good old C A N A D A. It would be better for us if any increase in capacity here was matched with decreased capacity in the US. I can't think of anything that will chase slaughter capacity north any faster than if R-calf/OCM/LMA and company get their way on a lot of things they are whining about.
I'm sending them a money order for $100.00 along with a letter explaining why I want to help their cause. Will they keep it or will they send it back with a polite no thanks?

I bet they keep your money Joe!
I mean think about it? They like to screw you...and you send them more money so they can further screw you?
Still let us know how it goes? It should be very interesting!

Actually, if things progress as they have to date - I like the idea. In the end we are getting stronger. Let us know what happens.

I delivered a processed Hereford cow to the local girls hockey team today. An open 4 year old open cow. The local abbotoir ground her into burger for free. The girls are on their way to a tournament in Europe. They sold the burger - all of it out of the auto shop - in less than 15 minutes!

My daughter said it was like watching coyotes fight.

I should have donated about 5 more and stood around to watch.

      Regards

don't get mad but I think in the long run we [north of 49] will be better of if the border stays closed to live beef.

Heck no Freesaw - I will not get mad. We have learned a tough lesson - never depend on trade partners.

it's killing us now, but those who can make it will be better off. Lots of new kill plants - 5-8 man operations opening up in my area. More jobs - more money. I sold a few animals to city folks at a profit. They'll be back for more and I'll be glad to supply 'em. Paid my power bill off for a change.
