Class Action Update.
Got a letter, personally signed, no less, from Mr. Ritz. It states that it is in response to our letters and enclosures to the Honourable James M Flaherty, Minister of Finance, and Mr. Ritz regarding the BSE class action litigation.
It acknowledges that a petition was filed on Oct. 4, 2010 in the House of Commons by several members of Parliament, and that .......
"The Government of Canada is examining the petition and preparing a response."
This is the first time the response has been something other than "we cannot discuss it because it's before the courts" It's a small step forward, but at the same time a big step. We are definitely looking forward to hearing what the response will be.
If there was ever a time to talk to your MP, this is it!!!! Postage to Parliament is free, so it doesn't even cost a stamp. A few well placed letters from a variety of ridings would go a long way toward raising the profile of this important issue.
In the meantime, I check the Hansard every day, and am watching for some action on the floor of the House.
