Tuesday will see the new Mrs. and myself off to NZ with the Foothills Forage Assn. ag tour. It is our honeymoon (after 13 years). We spend 4 days at the south of the south island and then fly to the north island for 9 more days. We will visit farms, dairies and cattle auctions etc. Maybe even some universities...no comment.
I'm sure we will see cattle country that makes ours look pretty challenged. I think that their grass grows every day of the year. Production isn't the problem but markets could be.
Anyway we are looking forward to late spring down under. It has to beat early winter here!! Our cows and calves are still together and being subsidized by bale grazing. Will wean sometime after we return about Dec. 10.
I hope things are good in here while we are gone and of course you can take the boy from Alberta but you can't take Alberta from the boy!!
Will report later. HT
