Record U.S. Cattle 'n Hog Carcass Weights

Cheap corn will fuel the North American meat production engine in 2015 (IMO). Pork, poultry and beef are apt to swell over the next year.

This may beg a sobering question of the current excessive cost of replacement cattle.

We have all heard meat consumption DOWN. Fuel it for who? Better have exports to the poor countries, oh wait they can't afford it, need cheap food, no problem Canadian farmers "give" it away below COP!

Pork weights have been increasing due to the higher mortalities in dealing with PEDv in the U.S. fewer overall pigs at a heavier weight. Close to 10% fewer hogs but only 2-3% less weight produced.

Cattle on Feed report did show a 12% increase of cattle on U.S. feedlots more than 120 days.

This suggests that there may be heavier supplies of cattle available to the market heading into October. U.S. cattle feeders appear packing the pounds on in this bullish market environment.
