Anybody ever hear of Bob Speller

Just wondering if anybody has ever heard of the new Ag minister. I understand he's from southern ontario. Hopefully he didn't learn all he knows from Lyle. I suppose time will tell.

Search for the Speller Report on the future of Canadian agriculture. Should be on the Ag Canada website. THat was him, and I think it's safe to say he and Lyle didn't always agree, but what really matters is what Paul Martin lets him do compared with what JC let Vanclief do.

We still have Samy Watson as Deputy Minister so we will probably not get much change. Won't have to look at Vanclief's smirk !

I asked my neighbour, who is more up on politicians than I am. He says all he knows about Bob Speller is that several years ago he wrote a report criticizing the direction the Agriculture department was taking.

Having a new minister who is not happy with the status quo is a good start.
