I watched the webcast of the press conference on the USDA website today. I was quite impressed with our Mr. Speller. He seems like a real guy, especially next to a slick politician like Ms. Veneman. Boy, can she answer a question without answering a question. ;-)
I hope he can resist the 'dark side' for as long as possible before turning into a "Politician". Check it out www.usda.gov
He's coming to Brandon next week to speak at Ag Days. I expect there will be quite a turnout for that one. Heaven knows, we would never have seen Van C. there.

It'll also be nice to hear someone besides Mrs. Wowchuk talking about how Manitoba has no more money for farmers, and how much the Manitoba government has already done to save our butts. She's said the same speech for almost 8 months now. It's wearing a little thin.
