Boxed beef sales

According to the CCA daily bulletin today, since Sept 10, Canada has shipped 291.41 million pounds of boxed beef to the States, and 48.11 million pounds of boxed beef to Mexico.

Anyone know how much boxed beef we shipped in 2002?

I wonder if laid off American packing plant workers would like to know where their jobs went? Someone should let them know, so they can have a little talk with a few certain unnamed Senators (we all know who they are) about this.

kato - have a look at ranchers.net now and you will see that Swift is starting to put out the word that cheap Canadian beef is hurting them. It will be interesting to see if they can swing any weight now that they say science doesn't justify the closed border.
