    Mexico

This is according to agcenter.com today.

Secretary Javier Usabiaga of Mexico is announcing that he is reopening the border to U.S. beef products. Mexico was the second largest destination for U.S. beef exports in 2003. It took
335,847 tonnes of beef and variety meats worth $877M in 2003. The initial agreement covers an estimated 75-80% of what the U.S. exports to Mexico, says USMEF president and CEO Phil Seng. USMEF looks forward to future phases of the agreement reopening this important market to U.S. beef variety meat. USMEF and USDA both recognize how important offals and trimming exports to Mexico are to the industry, he says. The news sent new optimism into the cattle trade. It will be at least 30 before the actual beef products, mostly boneless beef cuts of cattle under 30 months of age, begin to physically cross the border.

MMM... I wonder what this means for us? Apparently the Mexicans have been inspecting the American slaughterhouses to see if their processes are up to snuff regarding SRM's etc. They must have liked what they saw.
