I found this searching around on another site, sure looks like this packer is going to make a few bucks for their shareholders. Cargill buys piece of S Am beef Co
Cargill, Inc. makes its first investment in the Argentine beef industry. It acquires 50% of Finexcor SA, a leading beef processor and exporter based in Buenos Aires. Finexcor owns and operates two plants that process 350,000 head per year. It exports chilled, frozen and value-added products. Annual sales are about $140M.
Cargill has been in Argentina for 57 years and has been waiting to choose the right partner to enter the beef business there, says Cargill’s Mark Klein. It believes Argentine beef will play a key role in worldwide demand for beef in the future. Finexcor is a private company formed nearly 40 years ago. It has 1500 employees.
