    Is there a catch?

With this cow money? CP news reports..."up to" $80 per head. In another thread it was suggested at $57. Isn't 80 80? What's this "up to" all about? Does admin take 25% off the top? Also saw somewhere this was supposed to be split 6040. Is that true? Alberta already said no more. Maybe I'm just cynical and suspicious. NOT that we've been given reason to question in the past.

Brad Wildeman said last week that the payout will be split between approx. 8.4 million head. Brad has been a reliable and level headed source of info since this problem started last May. He is one of the few who got off his butt and went to work to keep the pressure on the politicians. He deserves our thanks . Be sure and do that when you run into him.
When Johnnyboy gets the border to disappear I'm going to run Brad for senator of Sask.

"There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers". Anyone ever mention that to you before? Rather than expound on my ignorance you had the perfect opportunity to share some of your vast wisdom and knowledge. Simply explaining the govt intended on a 70% initial payment would have been a start. If you read the next paragraphs on the govt website you find exactly the suspicion I was questioning. Once the bean counters have tallied and documented every calf in the program there MAY be more monies, "up to" the $80. As greybeard in the last post has indicated this should be possible. Not guaranteed but possible. As you have pointed out johnny, us cow calf dudes need real jobs. The reason my questions(and if you look, they were questions) are posted here is because I had to spend the afternoon in the shop making use of my mechanics' license. The questions arose from the bits of info gleaned from the radio and forwarded info from a CP News site. I find under normal circimstances these forums are the quickest way to obtain the truth. Thanks to almoy I found the answers I was seeking. I apologize if my cynical attitude made them sound as if they were anything but questions. But questions they were. How does one overcome the ignorance without the questions? The attitude comes from experience. From the funds(or lack thereof) promised in past govt programs that never quite materialized. Of this one, we've only been promised 70% so far. Hopefully and quite possibly more but only 70% at this point.
