That sure sounds encouraging. Thanks for posting it, needed the positive news after selling a six year old 1100 lb cow last thursday for 10cwt. Keep up the great work!

It would be better news if it were the U.S. Trade Minister who was making these comments rather than the Canadian Trade Minister.
And what did Foreign Trade Minister Jim Peterson really say other than the U.S. Department of Agriculture is likely to lift all its bans on Canadian cattle some time after the latest public comment period on mad cow disease ends on April 7.
It was an anonymous spokeswoman who said it could take four to eight weeks after the end of the comment period for any curbs to be lifted.
The only way this would be an exciting news item is if the comments made came from the U.S. Administration. As it is the Canadian government is just blowing its horn about the success of a trip 10 days ago by a dozen Canadian parliamentarians to Washington to explain the state of Canada's cattle industry to 40 U.S. legislators.

Oh, I apologise. I must have goofed when I skimmed the article, as I thought the statement about impending border opening came from the US minister of trade.
          Major bummer.
