What are your thoughts on these truckload beef sales-why wouldn't making them a weekly thing across Canada-form a company to handle the procurement,slaughter and distribution of the meat rancher to consumer. You know they aren't a whole lot different than the 'beef rings' our granddads took part in. Just on a much larger scale.

As I understand it a beef ring worked like this-there was no refrigeration in the early days so in a district each family would take turns butchering an animal and the whole area would divvy up the cuts of meat. Usually there was one individual who was in charge of making sure everybody kind of supplied same quality of slaughter animal. Everybody had a supply of fresh meat and no fridges were needed.
