Thank you cakadu, my past experience on the farm, in processing plants, in wholesales, distribution, retails, with R&D, training and setting up programs helps me to see many challenges the average industry participant may not. This is enough motivation to continue forward. The many professional individuals that have also dedicated time and input make it an industry program. I strongly urge you or anyone else that has questions to contact individuals that are working on projects and making choices based on their answers. Experience is good, but a combination of knowledge and experience is always better. You're input on many of the subjects in this forum have been helpful, I look forward to more of your posts throughout agri-ville.

I agree a realistic practical approach is required for processors to emerge from this crisis. And as others have noted, survive when the market for live cattle re-opens.
Since turning ground on a new plant this year means you probably won't be in the kill business for 2 or 3 years after that foresight and practicality are required. Sound engineering studies and long term producer contracts in place etc. etc.
Oh yeah and about $ 50 million $ to build and operate the plant.....
