    cull cows

What are you guys going to do with yours? I for one see no future in recycling them to lose that much more money on them again. Its just so appalling how the cattle associations and politicians let the system steal our cattle.

You can thank in part the consertive party for the theft that goes on.
I dont see why they would not go along with fineing the packers unless they are in bed with then as they seem to be with the yanks as a whole

blackjack: As you probably know from reading these forums, I'm preparing to retire this year? Hoping to sell the younger cows privately and hoping to sell the few old girls that can still cut it at the fall bred sales. I'll grease them up and try to make them pretty! Had a couple of cows lose calves...normally they'd be gone but now I will rebreed them and sell them in the fall. Probably have about three or four old "pets" that aren't worth a lot so I'll either baby them through one more winter or shoot them to keep the coyote population fat and sassy!
Luckily the drought of 2002 cleaned out most of the old girls and the problems so I'm sitting on a fairly young and quality cow herd.
Maybe I would be smarter to sell them right now as pairs but then I'd have to do something with the darned grass and I'm not too keen on taking a risk on a bunch of grassers this year. In the last year or two my crystal ball doesn't seem to be working all that well and I'm having one heck of a time predicting the future!
