Just watching A-Channel tonight and found out that the Consumer Association of Manitoba held a conference in Winnipeg today dedicated in stressing the importance of keeping the public informed about the status of BSE in this country. They said that people are very supportive of the industry and it's people, but are also very skeptical of the safety of the beef in this country and that the public should lobby for extra safety guidelines to ease people's concerns.

I truly think that you should go around with those particular signs on the back of your vehicle Joe-2, but I now suggest you rather make a statement regarding the state of food safety in this country, rather then beef itself.

If we are going to make resolving this crisis into any sort of election issue, we have to make it so that the average joe (no pun intended) gives a hoot. Go around proclaiming the lack of interest leaders have for improving the safety of food in this country, and by george, I think you might get through a few thick skulls!

Just to let you know, Martin is in Winnipeg tommorrow, Harper on Thursday, and Layton later in the week or possibly early next week.

I'm not sure who The Consumer Association of Manitoba is.A person has to be carefull about who you align yourself with.Some of these "consumer" orgs. have ties to animal rights groups and enviro-radicals and such.No thanks!!
I find it a little strange that in the other thread some people are chiding me for playing the vCJD card.How many mainstream media reports on BSE can you find that don't have MAD COW in the headline and somewhere in the body of the article have words to the effect that ,"eating BSE infected beef has been linked to vCJD in humans and 150 people worldwide have died from vCJD"?????? NOT MANY!!!!!!! And I'M being chastised for using "scare tactics"???????
Maybe instead of the truck signs I will paint "EAT ME" on the sides of some of my cattle and pasture them beside the trans-Canada highway during tourist season!!! How's that??

I agree with you about not getting aligned with this group. Usually whenever you see groups with words like "consumer" or "environment" in them, you can count on them being leftie wingdings! And usually if you dig deep enough they come up plain old commies! Definition of an environmentalist...like a watermelon...green on the outside...red in the middle!
