Testing deadstock

Here in MB.the govt has alloted $400,000 to a company to collect deadstock and deliver them to landfills.Not a bad thing,the scary part as I understand it is all deads must be CCIA tagged in order to trace back because they will all be tested for BSE.
If we can test the ones destined for burial there's no reason we can't test all the rest, the ones that really matter!

Why would anyone waste a tag on a dead cow when you put her in the pile last winter?

Just a thought- I think that one of the reasons for not wanting to test all cattle could be that it takes to long to get the resolts from the test and there would be a back log of hanging carcuses, and to much paper work to keep track of want brain tissue belongs to want carcuss and the contamination of all the carcuss hanging togeather, pluss if one tested possitive again, they may not have the paper work good enough to say for sure want head belonged to what body.
With a dead cow in the land fill site it don't much matter want head belongs to who, and just another goverment waisted of money that they could be giving it out to the people that really need it.

Since the tagging came into effect, Rothsay has always required a CCIA tag before they will pick up deads.

This is a quick and easy way to get the "numbers" that we need to fullfill our testing requirements. They definitely came out of the high risk population, what with them not having survived and all.

Apparently, decay doesn't affect the quality of the test, either.

Sure wouldn't want to be the poor guy collecting the samples though! Talk about a nasty job!
