That helps Ron. Here are some of the resources that I know of:

Beneficial Management Practices - Environmental Manual for Feedlot Producers in Alberta. Available from the Alberta Cattle Feeders' Association Ph: 1-800-363-8598. Their website is: www.cattlefeeder.ab.ca

The Legislation you might be looking for is covered in the following acts:

Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act
Agricultural Operation Practices Act (the infamous AOPA)- Standards and Administration Regulation
      Federal Fisheries Act

For information on various things such as:

Managing Feedlot Runoff to Protect Water Quality (Agdex 576-3)
      Managing Feedlot Shutdowns (Agdex 420/580-1)

These can be ordered from Alberta Agriculture Food and Rural Development's Publications Office 1-800-292-5697

More information can be obtained by calling the Agriculture Information Centre 1-866-882-7677.

Any provincial government offices can be reached toll free by first dialing the RITE Line: 310-0000

Hope this is of some help.
