I am thinking of registering that little heifer of Martina's (AEK 4P) as 'Pandora' based on this past year and 2 months, lol. What do you think?

Is Ron Wells the guy "in the know" of the going ons in Ontario? He is in the southern part of the province if I'm not mistaken but I've been told by others he is quite high up the food chain in Ontario. How do you like him? Email me if you don't feel like going public on this site. I'm always interested in knowing more about the "players" of the industry, players meaning the ones that are the most active doing various things... winning banners, making the best seedstock, organizing new packing plants, you know, whatever, just being active. Give me your opinion on the going ons of anyone, You're closer to Ontario action than I am but I'm probably just as interested in what goes on out there! Thanks for the updates! Have a good day!

I really like Ron. He is probably one of the most honest guys in the Hereford business I know. He tells you if he likes an animal or not, straight out. He can pick apart show animals pretty carefully and find even the slightest of flaws. Although he told me he has been in the showing part of the industry so long that he often forgets that an animal doesn't need to be the Mariyln Monroe of the cattle world to be a efficient and 'functional' producer. As far as being active, I don't know if their is a sale or show he doesn't go too!
Ron sold a real good Nick cow to River Valley a few years ago. River Valley took the cow with her Boomer bull calf called PED LADIES MAN 6L at side to the Royal a couple years back. I guess the bull calf had too much frame at the show and didn't do too well.
Well that bull is now owned by John Hill at the old Onondaga farm and man is he impressive. Just packed full of muscle! River Valley is using him as one of their main herdsires through A.I. You can take a look at him at www.rivervalleyherefords.com The picture they have of him under 'Herd Sires' isn't that great, carrying just a little too much fat. But what a bull he has grown to be!
