Talked to an oil landman who was over in Saskatchewan tying up some deals. He said the crop was pretty dismal with a lot of frost damage and poor grain. Now I assume this grain will need to find a home and it is doubtful the CWB can find a lot of decent markets? Maybe they will try to pawn it off on our own millers by changing the grading standards? Or maybe they can pay some old bankrupt third world country to take it...sort of like they used to do with Poland and Russia? I guess that is one way they could screw up the supply and demand picture?
The fact is there should be some ultra cheap grain out there this year? Is it fair? Definitely not...but then neither is 5 cents/lb. for a cow!
