cattle problems on green grass

Shortly after we turn out the cows on irrigated grass pasture we notice they start to lose condition, some of the first signs are sunken tail heads and protruding hip pins. The cows were in excellent condition during the winter and after calving. They have free choice 2 to 1 minerals, trace mineral blocks are available and they have good clean water. Has anyone had the same problem.
