I think I read somewhere that some of the new plants are planning on using some of their capacity buy doing some “custom kill”. Does that mean feedlots could sell load lots to brokers by booking space at the plant? Does the whole load have to grade the same? Will this give anyone with 50,000 pounds of similar carcasses a chance to go into the “beef business? I believe USPB started by having their product processed this way.
There may not be a lot of money there but it will give us a chance to go one step further up the chain. Maybe give the people using the carcass bulls a chance to capture some more of the value?
Were some of the R-Calf boys not having this done when they blocked the cattle from the plants?
