    R-calf says what ?

R-Calf Backs Away from food Safety Claim
The National Meat Association ( NMA ) filed with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals its response brief in R-Calf v. USDA. NMA argues there is ample evidence in the record to sustain a finding that USDA's Final Rule presented no substantial risk to human health and that the preliminary injunction should never have been entered.

But, R-calf's response filed with the Ninth Circuit last week makes this surprising admission, NMA says :"R-CAlf USA [has] never argued that there was a great risk to human health from resumed imports of cattle and beef from Canada."

In the aftermath of this statement, NMA is asking : "If R-Calf has never argued there's a great risk to human health from resumed imports, what was the purpose of the advertisement it took out in the Washington Post, which clearly linked the Canadian BSE situation to U.S. beef safey? Don't they beleive their own rhetoric?"

NMA says no one may be more surprised than Billings,MT, District Court that delayed the border reopening on the basis of "an increased risk to human health," even describing a "genuine risk of death for U.S. consumers" in its decision.

"R-Calf's latter-day admission that there is no great risk to human health from resumed imports of Canadian cattle and beef utterly undermines the basis for the District Court's decision," NMA says.

Instead ,NMA says R-CAlf now claims USDA didn't do a proper quantitative analysis.

"Apparently R-Calf failed to read the HArvard Risk Assessment . Authored by leading world experts, that assessment is the quantitative analysis of risk with which USDA supported its Rule," NMA says.

    See the brief at www.nmaonline.org/html/pr4_4_05.htm.

I would think the obvious question would be: What kind of idiot was Cebull? Did he do any research or did he just take R-CALFs' word that Canadian beef was "death to the American consumer"?
And now R-CALF, faced with a lawsuit that they lied and slandered Canadian beef, come out and say they weren't exactly right? US producers...take a look at what a bunch of idiots you've let hi-jack your industry? Do you really believe only a few dumb Canadians are going to question your retarded comments? Do you for one moment doubt your buddies, PETA and Earth First, are going to use your stupid comments to bury you? You utter fools!
As soon as I saw these dumb comments I realized that R-CALf supporters weren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer! Talk about cutting your own throat!
Now it is like suddenly a light came on and the brilliant leaders of R-CALF realized that they have acted like complete idiots! I wonder if these guys ever get off the farm once in awhile? Do they have any kind of clue how the real world works?

Cowman, your right, they don't get out much. They (R-CALF), are the most backwoods, hillbilly, bunch of retards, you ever saw. We have friends in South Dakota, and they tell us how fanatic and nuts the R-CALF retards are. They're just a bunch of Stetson wearing, flag waving, protectionist assholes that got some attention. It went right to their big heads, and now they are making it up as they go along. It's going to come on their heads like a ton of bricks.

Wow. I'm sensing a little pent up frustration here. Feels good to vent though, eh?

It's starting to look like the only ones who can get through to those guys are lawyers! We should have called them in a long time ago. They've been programmed to take legal advice, not common sense advice. There's a difference.

The really sad thing is while these idiots play their games with Canadian beef, their own government is quietly opening the door to Australia and Brazil. They just don't get it?
I believe the people of Montana are soon going to get a rude awakening when they find out all their anti-Canadian rhetoric, catching up to them. Go to Great Falls or Kalispell on a long weekend and count the Alberta license plates? If you didn't know better you might think you are in Alberta!
The people who run the hospitality business in Montana certainly don't discriminate! They like those Alberta dollars!
Something is really, really wrong in America? Read the article that dalek posted? I find it very sad that we are starting to see the end of America.

Fear-mongering has been prevalent since 9-11, coming from all sides. Once it was realized it could get you elected it is status-quo.
I think those R-calf types expect Osama to come and blow thier barn up some night if the don't stop him in the middle east.
How could "W" be the son of a president and never have been out of the US ?
Most don't care what happens if they can't see it out their window. I think thats why they are so gullable. By no means stuppid, but no very worldly.
