Just a word of caution about using Micotil. There have been at least a dozen deaths when farmers accidently injected themselves with Micotil. Any amount can be deadly and there is no antidote. It is important that no one carry a syringe loaded with Micotil in their pocket.

And if the shot doesn't kill you the price will!!
No, seriously, that sounds like a fairly dangerous drug, i've never had cause to use it but how can it be easily available if it is so dangerous?

Well i wasn't really advocating murder, just trying to cater to the "darker" minds here!
You've got to admit, it makes sense?
The police and coroner come out and conclude just another farm accident? I mean who would suspect you slipped them the big M?
This was supposed to be a joke(maybe a bit twisted)?

A good shot of Micotil, and you won't even make it to the hospital.
It's deadly to anything but cattle and sheep, and even in them, you absolutley must put it under the skin.
I guess this is why it's a prescription drug. You should be getting warnings from your vet when you buy it. I know when we dispense it at work, we always remind people of the dangers.
Another one you have to watch out for is Lutalyse. If you have asthma, and even just get it on your hands, you can trigger an attack. Women especially have to be careful with this stuff. Even if it just gets on your skin. You will soak it up, and it can make you quite ill.

Don't forget Rompun! That one can be absorbed too. It can stop your respiratory functions, and land you on life support.
We had a student at our vet clinic try to give a horse a shot a few years ago, (I'm pretty sure it was Rompun he was using) when the horse jumped, and the drug ended up on his neck instead of in it. I didn't know it, and was stroking his neck and trying to calm him, and within a couple of minutes had to go and sit down for a bit! Luckily it was a small amount, and after a few minutes I was OK, but it was a lesson well learned.

In the US Rompun is popular for treating animals on the range using dart guns. It only takes a small dose if you use the horse product, and once the animal is down you can use the higher volume product like liquamiacin. Can you bring it in on an "own use" permit like Ivomec? Will vets dispence it here? I'd like some to treat foot-rot where the early treatment always works best, but I find it easy to put off.
