This should help out some fellow cattlemen out there. We have always given our cows shots of Vitamins A, D & E in the spring and early fall. We'll last year the calves were not very active after the first few hours of birth and they took awhile before they got up and started sucking. This past year we gave them their regular vitamins shots but we have been feeding Vitamin A&D and E in supplement form during the winter, about the time their in their third trimester. The results are outstanding!!! The calves are full of piss and vinegar as soon as the come out of the cow. They are trying to stand up and suck within about half an hour. If your not supplementing your cows with these vitamins right now, start doing it!!! The vitamins aren't to cheap to buy, but once you see the results you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
