sucker rod fence

Any comments on sucker rod fence. pro's/con's how they stand up,how much work to maintain, etc.

Some times the nails that are tacked on to hold the wire get bent or the wire pops out and has to be repositioned but otherwise I have had some sucker rod fences here for ten years with no problems.

Put one up in 2001. still like new. Will do any other fencing with them again. They stand up just as well . Yes some nail loops get screwed up, but the investment lasts.

How about wild life I have lots of deer, moose and elk. Any problem with bending posts? Is there any ideas for using different fastners than the nails? Also concidering using the sucker rod for cross fencing with hot wire.
