Bill 50 received first reading June 1, second reading is adjourned until fall.

What Bill 50 will do is take away the ability for the public or landowners to question the need for a powerline project. The Stelmach Government will determine the "need" for a major power line project. While the actual route would be still open to public meetings, once the "need" has been predetermined by the Stelmach Government the powerline is going to be built for certain.
Could it be that "need" is derived by whichever energy company donates the most money to the Reelect The Conservatives Fund?
