I was wondering where the best place to purchase 6 volt batteries would be in central Alberta. Also is there a brand that is preferred or to stay away from.

The cheapest deep cycle batteries I have found are at wal mart, the energizer brand, 12 volts. They have the longest reserve capacity. Why would you go with 6 volts?

We use 12 volt Deep cycle batteries from
UFA, John Deere, and Canadian Tire
(depending on the sale).
I think capsolar is probably one of the
best sources (not neccessarily the
cheapest)for 6 volt deep cycles in central
alberta. I am not sure if Soltek is still
in business or not, they used to be
decent.

Also..dont know what your particular situation is Max...but we use SPI waterers...they use geothermal to keep the water and waterer from freezing...vs
