Anyone know what the price for flaxseed in the EU is at, now that they've cut off imports from Canada? is the USA included in this restriction?

The point I have always made is that Triffid, or find another culprit if you want, is the dog Europeans want to kick for ending up eating what they don't want to eat, and didn't buy.

Triffid is going to take the skicking for this one, Weber, code or no code. Triffid is flax's bad boy. Registered or deregistered.

      And...

      Triffid = Canada.

And even if we have defined the code and can recite it verbatum, it's not a plus for ANY marketer. Neither was mad cow disease.

          Europe is being europe.

If i was in charge of canada i'd find something sensitive to them on our end and i would SQUEEZE it.

Are we in a no-bid situation on flax right now or not?

Flax prices are up in Europe right now. Other countries are looking at crushing our flax and selling the oil to Europe. It's the meal that they can't get rid of.

Sounds like there are still a few bids out there, but don't know if it's any volume.

"tidbit" was in regards to the information not the situation.

And how the heck are we supposed to get to the bottom of this if the Germans aren't going to share with us the details of the tests.

When it comes to the EU and GMO's I'm reminded of this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1DEG6BWgp0">scene from Casablanca</a>

Ok - I'll go slowly this time...

                  DO
                  THEY
                  HAVE
                  THAT
                  IT
                  IS
                  TRIFFID?

                  WHAT
                  EVIDENCE
                  DO
                  YOU
                  HAVE
                  TO

                  Care to share it?

That is what I'd like to know as well.

If it's Triffid then please show us the Triffid already.

                      Weber,

                      EU Tests were done. lawsey.

Whether they are accurate, or recorded correctly, or imaginary,or translated improperly, or illegitimate, or fixed, or unfixed, wahtever you want, remember...they WERE broadcasted across the world.

                      Shall we call them liars?

Whether the contamination reflects shippers, or the trade, or growers, or Madonna,or the EU's mistake, the costs of this fiasco will be subsequently dealt with in lawsuits. The trade will quietly settle out of court while farmers lose markets.

And then there are farmers. Farmers can only reflect and report on what European websites state. React.

EU looked at their tests results and quit buying.

                      Yes they did.

                      You demand test proof?

If some folks doubt the tests were done correctly, and know it was a scam, a fraud, a setup, then argue until the cows come home.

                      I did not test anything.
                      sumdumguy did not test anything.

But farmers are paying for the fallout in lost sales
                      cancelled sales
                      storage
                      etc.

Canada is being pointed at as the culprit. Not good for my sales.

Waving a self-declared LEGITIMATE Canadian Triffid test in front of the bulleyes of the EU triffid test, will do what........cause still more bellering and pawing?

Let's really infuriate them. This is movie stuff. cott can play Triffid. He's fearless. LOL
