Boarderbloke, something to consider is in a swath the snow stays on top but standing and minus 10 or so it straight cuts ok. Saw that a lot around here. Swathed guys were always behine the standing. But, if its going to be there in the spring, i guess a swath is better. Not much help i know.

wd9, I'll be holding off with swathing the flax as long as possible. With it having been sprayed with two nice weeks of weather already, I'm hoping if we get that week of -4 to -6 overnights, it should go a long way in getting the straw dried out and through the combine. I wouldn't doubt that the seed is close to dry, I just need the straw to dry down.
