    Panic mode is setting In.

Crap what the hell happened to October. Never and I mean never has our farm had a month that starts with crappy weather and continues till end of month. Got out yesterday and did 100 acres broke front drum on feeder house on one and side panel on header auger on other, but the third made it. Drying last night and today. Best was 13.9 at end of day. But today's forecast holly crap could rain will rain might rain could snow might snow will snow. oh yea sunny 2 hours for the next 7 days. What the Heck is going on. People are doing 22 hrs and oats. Canary seed flax canola. Looked like a full blown harvest day. Not good not good. Free-wheat I also feel for your situation its not good we have harvested a major portion of the crop in november before but have lots this year. I dont know.

Quite a few in our area are panicking because have oats contracts for November and its still in the field also canola and flax contracts that the crop is in the field. Is this one way the grain companies can escape the high price of these contracts and farmer pays penalty for not fulfilling.

A good time for neighbors to start talking to each other. If you are not able to fill a contract and the grain company wouldn't buy you out (assuming your ddc is higher than current prices), you may be able to cut a deal with someone to fill the contract with some type of sharing arrangement on benefit. You have to read the contract over to see if this is allowed.

There will be drying programs for Flax and Canola and they are actually drying not bad in field lots being combined now... Oats can be dryed as well what the Quality is like is another story... Canary is a Scary!
