Does Mr. Merchant read this site

"... in an egregious, high handed and oppressive manner, the CWB willfully and knowingly underpaid western canadian farmers for their grain based on dishonest pricing practices that only a few knew...."

Wouldn't that make an interesting statement of claim.

If only there was a pool of money we could draw on to hire laweryers for the good of all farmers.

Oh ya we had that what ever happened to it?

Did that chicky get her ethanol plant?

Interesting - if the lawyers win the case against the railroads or give us the money from the overcharge last year - we could use the proceeds to rid ourselves of the cwb.

It was a bio diesel plant, and no we did
not, we can say at the very least, we
          tried.

The money went to Western Grains
          Foundation!

Much better to some than into value
          added industry.

          Cheep Cheep!

              Good point.

This was public money how do we follow it? Every penny should be accountable somewhere. It would be interesting.

The $60 odd million overpayment went to the WGRF. It was reported in the annual report of the Canadian Transportation Agency.

Havapulse, you mean give 30 million like Bigsky for value added?

Come on AGSTAR way bigger fish to fry than Bigsky, how about Bombardier or 10 billion to the auto sector, reality is government invests millions even billions into value added sector we can only hope with reasonable expectations of success, for example the ugraders which continue to porduce wealth, and perhaps had Big Sky built chicke-barns or dairy barns their fate would have been much more predictable, the question remains one of direction of where we as farmers want to see our railway over charge capital invested, the suggestion was made it could be used to invest in farmer determined value added, returned to farmers, the discussion in this page turned to using it to get rid of the CWB or simply ignored and allowed to go into the predetermined direction of the WGRF, a decision made with our capital by I assume the government.
