    one earth farms

Is this a joke or the newest ponzy or pigeon king out there. Wall street trying to farm ,now that is a joke. Maybe they will be putting coffee machines in the corners of the fields.

Does anyone know yet if they are required to pool their wheat with the rest of us serfs?

Will the chiefs of the cwb be licking the boots of the chiefs and ceo trying to get their grain? Invites to the C to C? Overseas trips to show the benefits of forced pooling?

I have a hard time believing that an entity that does not have to pay taxes would be forced to deal with the cwb.

Silver, are you saying that since, "we are all treaty people", we need to be asking for treaty status to get out of the CWB. (lol)

I do those paper calculations for my farm every fall for the next year and before seeding after seeding and after harvest. I know what your saying but every year i keep coming up short from all my best calculations and even when I allow for a 10% contingency fund for the worst case I seem to be just treading water. I enjoy farming and don't want to get out but these are wealthy men - they should know better.

To see the silver lining - if these guys make money there's a pretty good chance family farms will be making money also. So there is optimism in watching them.

Firing them is fun, are you sure about that???

When FBC was at my farm some 10 or 15 years ago, you paid your fees in advance.

I'm thinking your $9000 is to cover 2010 taxes which is a year away.

Hmmm, with all that cash up front from the clients they have, we should be checking if they bought shares in One Earth Farms...

The CWB has already trumped the natives. (R. v. Frank, 1999)

                          Harley Frank tried everything:
                          Aboriginal rights
                          Treaty rights
                          Indian Act conflict
                          Charter of Rights
                          Taxes

But he lost them all. Guilty of crossing the border without an export licence.

                              Saskfarmer..... good info

You can take off the machinery costs as CNH is a major shareholder. AgGrowth is supplying the bins, augers etc. They are wanting to "Showcase" their equipment and they will make their money back by charging the rest of us another 20% for our parts. No land taxes as its mostly all First Nations land........(they don't pay tax). I am sure there are other cost we can take off.

As far as inputs they won't be dealing with the co-ops and Viagras, they will be dealing direct with the manufacturers. Let them come out and service the field scouting and after hours servicing.
